Tyndale NT study group 2020: call for papers

The Tyndale New Testament Written report Grouping is part of the Tyndale Fellowship for biblical and theological research, based at Tyndale Business firm in Cambridge, and including evangelical scholars from all over the world.

The 2022 NT Study Group will be meeting with all the study groups for the interdisciplinary Quadrennial Tyndale Fellowship Conference at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hertfordshire fromMonday 29th June to Wed 1st July 2020. Our theme this year (for all the groups together) is Doing Theology in a World on the Move – Migration, Borders and Citizenship.

We would welcome proposals of papers on whatsoever issue of scholarly debate on issues relating to this, which might include subjects relating to:

  • motility and dispersion in the Book of Acts
  • the language in east.g. ane Peter of 'aliens and sojourners'
  • themes of discipleship and citizenship in Philippians and elsewhere
  • the significance of Pentecost and its echoes of the Babel story in Genesis with its mixing of languages
  • the ministry of Jesus at the borders of Israel
  • NT reception of Old Testament exodus or exile figures or motifs
  • the didactics of Paul in Romans 13 on practiced citizenship
  • Revelation's language of 'tribes, languages, peoples and nations'

or other relevant New Testament issues. Alongside the main theme, there will also be infinite to hear papers on other issues in NT study as in previous years.

The written report group is a great opportunity to engage with the best of evangelical scholarship, and to meet other scholars from around the world.

If you would like to offer a newspaper, either on the master theme, or on another expanse of NT study, delight transport a proposal (of not more than than 300 words) to the grouping's Secretary, Dr Nick Moore [email protected] past Tuesday 1st Oct 2019. We are always interested in hearing from established scholars but also in encouraging younger scholars and those notwithstanding engaged in initial inquiry.

The full program will be published before the end of the twelvemonth; online booking is already open on the website.

We would too be interested to hear expressions of involvement in offering papers for the successive three years as well:

2021 Later Pauline Epistles: Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon and the Pastorals

2022 Ethics and moral transformation in the New Testament

2023The Holy Spirit in the New Testament
